Federal Appeals Court orders EPA to reinstate methane pollution rule

Statement by Earthworks Energy Program Director Bruce Baizel

August 1, 2017

“Again a court has told Scott Pruitt's EPA that he can't wave away the rule of law just because his oil and gas industry cronies find it inconvenient.

Peer-reviewed science, and over a million Americans demand we cut methane pollution from oil and gas to protect our health and our climate. In spite of this, Administrator Pruitt and the oil and gas industry will continue to try to eliminate crucial environmental safeguards. However, we will not stop fighting to protect clean air, clean water and healthy communities, from the oil fields of Oklahoma to the courts of Washington, DC.”
