EARTHWORKS, and each of our programs and campaigns, is committed to protecting your privacy. To make your experience at our website more convenient, EARTHWORKS gathers information from you. EARTHWORKS maintains the privacy of your information and adheres to policies that prevent unauthorized use of your personal information.

What personal information does EARTHWORKS collect, and how is it used?
EARTHWORKS collects information on which portions of our website visitors access or visit. EARTHWORKS also collects information volunteered by visitors, such as survey information and/or website registrations. Any personal information EARTHWORKS collects is used for internal review and is either discarded or used by us to contact you for purposes such as those described below. EARTHWORKS keeps confidential all personal information entered during registration.

When EARTHWORKS does collect personally identifiable information, it is always voluntarily submitted by you (e.g., when you fill out the registration page or send us feedback). The information collected is used to send our users email reminders and other information EARTHWORKS thinks will be of interest. If, for any reason, you would like to be removed from our email list(s), you can unsubscribe by visiting your member page or simply sending an email to action [at] earthworksaction [dot] org.

EARTHWORKS may also monitor and track information such as customer usage patterns of our website. EARTHWORKS compiles this information into a statistical aggregate which EARTHWORKS uses, together with your personal information, for internal business and administrative purposes including improving our website, our operations and our client service.

Protecting your privacy
As part of our commitment to ensuring the privacy of our customers, EARTHWORKS does not sell or exchange personally identifiable information about our online customers with, for example, mass marketers. EARTHWORKS keeps confidential any personal information entered during registration, though EARTHWORKS may share aggregate information about website usage and traffic patterns, stripped of any personally identifiable information, to third parties to comply with various reporting obligations and for business or marketing purposes.

EARTHWORKS may also share limited personally identifiable information with third parties on a confidential basis to enable a third party to perform certain tasks, such as maintain an email list or send email alerts and/or newsletters, on our behalf.

EARTHWORKS will not sell any personal information you provide (such as your name or contact information), nor will it make your information available to any outside organization without your express consent.

Electronic and managerial procedures have been employed to safeguard the security and integrity of personal information. All EARTHWORKS employees with access to personal information obtained on the EARTHWORKS web site are bound to adhere to this privacy policy.

Data security and storage
EARTHWORKS attempts to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of your personal information.

To protect the security of information supplied by EARTHWORKS eactivists and donors, they are supplied with user names and passwords upon first login to their member page. The data we gather from action takers and donors is stored on servers using industry-standard methods to protect the confidentiality and integrity of that data.

Access to personal data is restricted within the EARTHWORKS, and all employees are aware that personal data is private.
