Families on the front lines of mining, drilling, and fracking need your help. Support them now!

Over 16,000 people have urged Macy’s – by letter or by Facebook – to speak out against dirty gold, and sign the Golden Rules for Responsible Metals Sourcing.

Unfortunately, they haven’t.Yet.

So it’s time to ramp up the pressure.

Can you take a minute from your busy holiday week to call Macy’s? Think of it as caroling against dirty gold. We need to call Macy’s and tell their people (Jim and Beth) to sign the Golden Rules.

We’re asking for 1 minute of your day to call Macy’s and ask them to sign the “Golden Rules” for responsible metals sourcing. We want to call two representatives at Macy’s – if you can only make one call, that’s ok!

Don't know what to say? Here are some suggestions:

1. Hi, I'm calling to urge Terry Lundgren (CEO) and Macy’s to sign on to the No Dirty Gold campaign. I want to know that Macy’s is doing its part to ensure that the gold it sells is not tainted with human rights abuses or pollution. Please sign on to the Golden Rules. Your customers deserve better. Thank you.

2.  Hi, I'm calling to ask if you can connect me to someone who can explain why Macy’s is lagging behind signing on to the No Dirty Gold campaign. Over 80 jewelers have signed. Now I want Macy’s join them and support human rights, fair labor, and environmental protection by signing on to the Golden Rules. Will you?

3. Hi, I'm calling because I am a Macy’s shopper. Please sign Earthworks' Golden Rules so when I return to Macy’s, I know I'm shopping at a company that cares about people and the environment.

Only 5 days left until Christmas, people are finishing their holiday shopping. Some of these gifts will be dirty gold jewelry – tainted by human rights abuses, unfair labor practices, and environmental destruction.
Over 80 jewelers have signed the “Golden Rules” for responsible metals sourcing, including Target, Tiffany & Co., and Zales. It’s time for Macy’s to step up and do their part.

Call right now and join the hundreds of others telling Macy’s to step it up for human rights! They need to hear from as many people as possible during this prime shopping week.

Give Macy’s a ring and deliver the message: “no more dirty gold”!
